Lettuce Entertain You!!!

Lettuce Entertain You!!!

The story of lettuce.... it's a saga really.

Lettuce has been around for about 5,000 years and has traveled the world more extensively than I have!

From the Middle East to the Greeks to the Romans and beyond, lettuce really gets around! From the Romans to China, stopping in Britain, Asia, and Africa on the way. It's even rumored that Christopher Columbus brought it with him on his voyage to discover new worlds. It's even been in space, but that's a blog for another time!

But Why The Antelope?

Wild lettuce is part of the Pronghorn Antelopes natural food source. They prefer the younger plants but will they eat the prickly leaves of older lettuce? Go to page and find out! https://retiredgardener.com/products/lettuce-gourmet-mix-1

But watch out, if you have antelope near your garden they’ve been known to hop the fence and eat the lettuce you have planted… along with just about everything else!
