Author - Susan R. Stoltz
An award winning author with a #1 selling children's book, Ms. Stoltz has had many opportunities in her lifetime, but one of the most challenging has been her adventure into children’s book authorship. “It’s not as easy as some would think,” Susan explained. “You have to know age appropriate vocabulary, relevant topics, how to stimulate learning and inspire critical thinking, and then wrap that all up into something entertaining as well. Not a task for the weak of spirit."
Susan’s love of animals is key to most of her endeavors. She worked for almost a decade at a conservation zoo and never tires of observing and learning about the place animals have in our eco-systems, our world, and in our hearts. She’s an avid horse-woman, dog lover, and has a particular affinity towards prairie dogs and giraffes. Susan's books focus on conservation, information, education, as well as humor and laughter.
An avid gardener for most of her adult life, Susan earned her Master Gardener Certificate from the University of Arizona. She's also a stained glass artist, Jack Russell Terrier fanatic, and spends most early mornings in the garden. When she’s not writing or gardening, she's either caring for and playing with her well trained and highly energetic dogs, creating mosaics and stained glass, reading, and teaching. She occasionally cleans the kitchen! Susan lives in Arizona with her two Jack Russells, Dash and Zoom, and is well known for eating chocolate cake for breakfast.
