What Does It Mean to Garden Regeneratively?
Join us for this on-demand downloadable course and learn about regenerative gardening at your own pace. This course is dynamic and succinct, as well as extremely informative.
Regenerative gardening is a style meant to nourish the eco-system as well as the people on earth, specifically using practices that will restore the soil and the health of the ecosystem, which will, in turn, leave our land, water, and climate in better shape.
It’s not a new idea and it’s not always the same from garden to garden or farm to farm. What is needed to regenerate the life of the soil in one place may not work in another, and, rather than a set of rules, it’s a philosophy of farming/gardening in harmony with nature rather than trying to manipulate it to suit our fancy.
Often gardeners think of feeding their plants with fertilizers, but in reality we need to feed our soil, which in turn, feeds the plants and us. Our working landscapes should provide us with more than products, it needs to be a carbon sink, recharge our water supply and retention, and help nurture our soil.
In reality regenerative gardening will fight climate change more effectively than any human invention, pipeline, windmill, or solar panel. By nurturing our soil we nurture the entire planet.
This course will get into the details of sustainability, ecosystem support and relationships, health, techniques, and the basic agricultural principles and techniques.
