The Insect Collection 2
PRESALE SPECIAL! SEEDS WILL SHIP JANUARY 2025!
Combine our bug collection seeds with this workbook and the learning expands exponentially!
Gardening is fun, and kids have so much to gain by spending time outside learning how to grow their own food, discerning what part insects and animals play in the garden environment, and just how the soil actually feeds us all!
Our seeds are intentionally chosen and our workbooks and curriculum designed to help kids and adults learn to garden and understand where our food comes from. We can all play a part in helping our planet regain its viability, and part of that is knowing how many components make up an eco-system and that each member of that system relies on the other to make it work. It's a big subject! We try to make it less daunting, more fun, and ultimately instill an appreciation for growing organically, and treating our earth responsibly.
Let's learn about insects, their habitats, food, migration, and more as we sharpen our observation and critical thinking skills.
Insects are so important in the garden or farm. Are they good? Bad? Can we learn to manage the garden so that the ecosystem is balanced enough we don't have to worry overly about the insects that really 'bug' us? Kids are fascinated by bugs of all kinds and between this bug unit and man of our blogs about bugs the entire family can learn about them. Some look terrifying, some are adorable, all are necessary! My Bug Notes will build a child's fundamental science skills, inspire them to try new things and encourage them to imagine new possibilities. This workbook includes the anatomy of an insect, glossary of terms, diet, habitat, and fun facts like this one:
Spiders have 8 legs and 48 knees! Who knew?
Whether at home or school, when these notebooks are used in conjunction with gardening, books, documentaries, outdoor nature walks, birdwatching adventures, natural history museums, zoos, or on-line research, they enhance curriculum and easily measure comprehension.
The My Bug Notes was a cooperative project between Melissa Bailey and Susan Stoltz.
