Tree - Moringa Oleifera
Tree - Moringa Oleifera
20 Seeds per packet.
This moringa is well acclimated to drought conditions, but will grow even more given regular watering, so it suits many different growing zones. Young seedlings should have regular watering until approximately 3' tall. In harsh winter climates it's best to cut the tree down to the ground and cover with 1 - 2' of mulch. Moringa will grow 12 - 17 feet per year and in year two, if not cut down in the winter, will start to give you flowers and develop pods of seeds.
Germination: 7-16 days
This tree is so nutritious due to its deep tap root that allows it to pull nutrients from a greater depth than most other foods, therefore it's best not to keep it potted for too long and to plant in-ground as soon as it's approximately 8" to 1' tall.
12 seeds per packet. Germination rate has been 90% two seasons in a row.
Resistant to pests and diseases I use them to give the rest of my garden shade in our hot desert summers.
Moringa has been declared one of the worlds most nutritious foods and it's often used by herbalists to heal many maladies.
